Drake's Note To Nyx « Thread Started on Nov 23, 2007, 8:09pm »
Drake looked out into the magical world from the owlery. He tended to his owl because his owl, Starlight, seemed to be quite brilliant. It was white, but with a black back.
He scribbled down a note for his beloved, Nyx.
Nyx, I bought tickets to your favorite group. I thought we could spend the whole day together do whatever you like. Since I've returned from my vacation we haven't really been alone. I miss that. Well write back as soon as you can. Drake P.S. This is my owl, Starlight.
He folded the note and tied it to Starlight's leg. Drake said, "Starlight, take this to Nyx...."
He sat waiting for her reply and started to play with Starlight's mate, Comet. Starlight, seemed to be quite fond of this other owl and would soon probably have children. He pet the owl and gave it treats as he sat at the window peacefully.

Nyx was, coincidentally, sitting on top of the Owlery Tower's roof, thinking, when a rather beautiful owl soared up to her and landed lightly on her shoulder. Nyx had thought at first that maybe this owl had been bored, and come up to play with her; but she noticed a note tied to its leg.
"Mail for me?" She asked it, and the owl hooted what Nyx took to be a 'yes' from its part.
She carefully removed the string tying the letter and read it. The owl, which she now learned that was called Starlight, watched her as she did.
Nyx suppressed a grin and summoned a pen, as using a quill would be rather bothersome at the moment. She wrote,
Drake, I would love to! And Starlight is beautiful, not to mention really nice, too--
At this, Starlight seemed to have understood her writing a hooted happily from its perch on Nyx's shoulder.
--well, I'm up at the Owlery roof if you need me. I miss you lots too, Nyx.
She tied her reply to Starlight's outstretched leg and patted it before it took flight again. Nyx leaned back on her arms and sighed contentedly, a grin on her face.

Nyx was slightly surprised as Drake climbed up onto the roof, and laughed, figuring that he had to have been in the Owlery in the first place to send an owl. "There's enough room for the whole Dragonhead House here," she grinned cheerfully, patting the clear spot next to her.
"What are you doing all alone up here?"
"Oh, well," Nyx blushed lightly, "Just...thinking," she shrugged, bending her knees so that they reached her chest, placing her arms around her legs in a crouch. "What's up?" She asked lightly, wiggling her finger playfully in front of Starlight.

He said, "Nothing. Missing you. We haven't had a chance to be alone since I've returned." He moved behind Nyx wrapping his arms around her. He sighed softly, "It's nice out here, huh?"
He finally got the confidence he needed and said, "Nyx.. I wanna ask you something very important thought it's untraditional on a roof top, but uh.. will you marry me?"

Nyx had heard him. But she didn't quite believe it. "Uh, what?" She said apologetically, wondering if she had heard wrong. Maybe her mind was playing tricks on her. Or maybe this was a dream.
She pinched her cheek hard, and yelped as it throbbed in pain. Nope. Not a dream.

Drake couldn't help, but chuckle a little and said, "Uh, would you.. er.. marry me, Nyx?" He said nervously and took the ring out of his pocket and showed it to her.

Nyx suppressed a high-pitched, girly squeal and nodded. "A million times, yes!" She said, seizing Drake round the middle and hugging him. Of course, it wasn't enough to express her feelings, so she sat straighter and taller (Drake was taller than her even while sitting,) and pecked his lips.

Drake grinned and said, "Brilliant." He didn't know what else to say as he looked down to see his love. "So when would you like to start making plans for the wedding?" He couldn't even think about anything else, but her. It was like he was in a dream. He knew he wasn't though and was thankful for it.

"Whenever, today, now?" She said quickly, grin seemingly plastered to her face permanently. As if cursed, she couldn't get her face muscles to bring herself into a frown.

Drake said, "We can do it now." He took out some parchment and the quill he used to write nyx. He mumbled a spell to make the quill write what they said. "What first?"

He thought and said, "Er, a place. Your right about the London part." He laughed. "We could get Kisha to play the music. Beck will be my best man of course. Who's your bride's maid going to be?" He watched the quill write the following down and turned towards Nyx.
